Project: BSides Las Vegas has grown to a two-and-a-half day conference that runs Monday through Wednesday, just before DEF CON 33 in Las Vegas. In 2025, we’re spilling the tea, we’re leaking the secrets, and we’re doling out riddles with Alice & Bob in Wonderland.
Let’s break this down. Of all the myriad visual interpretations of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, this might be the first to capture the energy and campiness of a Vegas hacker con. “Alice & Bob” are common archetypes in cryptography, placeholders for two people between whom secrets are securely shared. Here, we see Alice and Bob portrayed as Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow, laundering diamonds, whispering cryptically as the caterpillar listens, spills the tea, and the whole mess trickles back to the Queen’s ears. The oversized feet, one each for Alice and Bob, are largely conspicuous because they took the bait that probably said “Eat Me” whilst attempting to unlock a door unfit for their predicament. And yes, that is a Utah teapot.
What a great con it was.
